TR321-M is an OpenWrt based Linux OS industrial LTE CAT M1/NB-IoT IoT router, which provides C/C++, Python programmable embedded environment for IoT developers and programmers to implement their industrial applications in a flexible and fast way.
TR321-M provides dual mode LTE-M/NB-IoT for applications that require different data throughput. Besides, it back supports EDGE/GPRS, which ensures your application can be widely covered by different cellular network. TR321 has 2-RJ45, 1- RS232, 1-RS485, and it is perfect for connecting the ethernet IP and serial port devices to cloud via cellular network. Besides, its auto switchover between wireless and wired WAN, multiple VPN features provide robust and secure connectivity for data transmission.
TR321-M has been widely used for industrial application, such as meter reading, HVAC, solar panel, etc.
The smart power meter is to use Bivocom NB-IoT Router TR321-M to connect to Schneider’s EasyLogic PM2230 Power & Energy meter via RS485, collecting the data with Modbus RTU protocol and transfer the data to customer’s MQTT cloud IoT platform.

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, and refers to the different systems used for moving air between indoor and outdoor areas, along with heating and cooling for residential, commercial and industrial buildings. They are used to keep people warm and cool in winter and summer, and keep people healthy by filtering and cleaning the indoor. Besides, they are also used for maintain the ambient temperature and humidity for things in commercial and industrial buildings, such as server room, factories, biological medicine manufacturing and storage, to keep the things at a certain level of temperature and humidity.

Although there are so many applications of HVAC, today, we’re going to talk about smart HVAC in commercial building. Let’s have an overview of what is smart HVAC and what benefits we can get from it?
A smart HVAC system leverages networked HVAC components, sensors and other technologies, such as IoT(Internet of Things), big data, cloud, artificial intelligence, etc., it’s the natural evolution of a building automation system (BAS).

As you may know, HVAC system consumes about 40% of energy of whole commercial building, while after that, it’s lighting. So how to find a solution that will help the building owner save energy consumption, lower operation costs has become a challenge. While using smart HVAC, as there is an IoT router or gateway like Bivocom TR321-M connect to controllers or sensors of HVAC systems, to transfer the data to remote cloud server. In this way, building manager will easily know the status of HVAC and remotely control it on and off. Besides, the IoT enabled HVAC systems also provides predictive maintenance benefits, where maintenance crew will the potential operation issue of whole system before its badly breakdown, as well as remote troubleshooting and maintenance.
Daikin is the leader to provide the smart HVAC systems to global customers, so there are many legacy 3G routers and 4G routers installed in their systems. But as the phase out of 3G routers, price of other brands’ 4G router and data plan are high, while their data bandwidth requirement is not that big, so they are looking for a new and cost-effective solution to replace legacy 3G router and 4G router.
There are benefits of TR321-M for Daikin’s smart HVAC.

]]>In addition, NB-IoT focuses specifically on indoor coverage, low cost, long battery life, and high connection density. NB-IoT uses a subset of the LTE standard, but limits the bandwidth to a single narrow-band of 200kHz. It uses OFDM modulation for downlink communication and SC-FDMA for uplink communications. IoT applications which require more frequent communications will be better served by NB-IoT, which has no duty cycle limitations operating on the licensed spectrum.
In March 2019, the Global Mobile Suppliers Association announced that over 100 operators have deployed/launched either NB-IoT or LTE-M networks. This number had risen to 142 deployed/launched networks by September 2019.
In conclusion, NB-Iot characteristics is: wide coverage, low power consumption, low cost, large connection and other characteristics.
1. NB-iot network architecture
2. NB-IoT application classification
Above all, in the field of low-speed Internet of Things, NB-IoT, as a new standard, achieves the ultimate in cost, coverage, power consumption, and number of connections. This technology is widely used in eight typical industries, including public utilities, healthcare, smart cities, consumers, agricultural environments, logistics and warehousing, smart buildings, and manufacturing.
